On Tuesday, July 12th, at around 1:30 a.m., the Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a shooting in the 200 block of W. Westchester where officers located a male with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Walter Umukoro, 22 years of age, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives determined the victim, and an unknown suspect were engaged in a disturbance in a parking lot. The disturbance escalated resulting in the suspect shooting the victim.
