The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in the 1400 block of E IH-30.
At approximately 7:40 p.m., a Toyota passenger car was traveling east bound in the main lanes of IH-30 when the driver struck a mattress. The vehicle became disabled in the lanes of traffic and was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the Toyota was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. No other persons were injured.
On July 16th, the driver, identified as Keyla Oliva, 21 years of age, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
No charges are expected to be filed. This crash remains under investigation.
