225 BBQ

225 BBQ is an incredible food truck outside of the Division Brewing in Arlington, TX – it’s a stone’s throw from Grand Prairie, and it’s definitely worth the trip.

Checking their social media, we can see that 225 BBQ is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays – from twelve noon to seven pm each day. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available, and they accept every payment method you can think of – make sure to get yourself there! I mean if you are not going to go right now you might want to finish reading this but if you are really hungry here is their address 506 E Main St, Arlington, TX 76010.

The Food

Okay, you know the drill with food trucks – everyone does!

It’s either massively overpriced and thrown together by someone that doesn’t care, or it’s the greatest thing you’ve ever eaten in your life.

I can assure you that this food truck experience is the second one. You can tell that the food has been put together with a huge amount of love and care by people who know what they’re doing and genuinely love cooking. Food always tastes so great when people love making it!

When I went, I had a few different things. I had brisket, sausage, corn, ramen, and a few different side dishes – it was all perfectly divine!

The seasoning blends are some of the best that I’ve ever tried: they’re rich and sweet with a little bit of heat behind them without being too overpowering that you can’t taste the savory notes of the meat too. Not to mention the smoking process, to boot!

You can tell when the meat has been smoked with a wood that really ignites the flavor, and you can tell when the smoker cares that the flavor gets all the way through – that’s what happened here. The wood that they burn adds great flavor to the meat, giving the overall flavor an addictive kick that I LOVE!

While I didn’t try it while I was there, I’ve heard great things about their little ‘cherry bomb’. Essentially, they take a habanero pepper and slice it in half while maintaining the little seed pod in the center. They stuff one side with cream cheese, and the other with smoky, rich brisket. They put the halves back together, wrap it with bacon, and season it with cayenne pepper, before smoking it to get the truly wonderful flavors in there.

They dip the bomb in their serrano-infused BBQ sauce before topping with a little grating of parmesan cheese as well as a thick slice of raw jalapeño.

They recommend that you eat it in one bite, and they often ask if they can film you eating it to see if you can handle the heat.

I want to go back just to try one of these things!

The Brew

It would be a crime to be so close to Division Brewing and not go in for a couple of beers. It’s a really nice space with plenty of stools and tables to sit around and make new friends.

They have a number of taps, not all of which are permanently active, where they share some of their favorite brews that they’re got fresh at the moment. I love going to a bar with a set of taps to good beer, and this is the perfect example of that.

I had a few drinks, and all of them were great.

The Vibe

The strange thing about both 225 BBQ and Division Brewing is that while the food and drink are utterly amazing, one of the best things about them is the fact that they’re simply great places to hang out.

The owners that work there (as well as the patrons) simply adore spending time there, and that comes through in the service and the vibe of the place. You feel instantly relaxed when you are there, and that feeling doesn’t leave you for the rest of the day. You feel so glad that you’re sitting having some of the greatest BBQ that you’ve ever had, and you know that you don’t want to leave for a while.

Thankfully, no one will make you!

We can’t recommend 225 BBQ and Division One enough. If you’re from Grand Prarie, then we’d definitely recommend taking the drive out to go eat and drink there. It can turn a slow, lazy day into a delicious day that you can spend relaxing in the nice fall weather with some of the best food you’ve ever eaten.

Check it out soon!
