At approximately 4:30 a.m., GPFD responded to a call involving semi-trucks on fire at
Poly-America. 11 semi-trucks were fully destroyed by the fire. The fire has been
extinguished and has now turned into a hazmat incident to clean up the remaining
diesel fuel. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.
In August 2020, an overhanging power line fell onto plastic sheeting in a storage area at the plant, starting a fire that burned for almost 24 hours.
