A Grand Prairie man is being sought by the police for charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping, and other petty offenses. The Texas Department of Public Safety said the man had evaded arrested several times.
The 37-year-old Gregory Jon Pecina Jr. has been added to the state’s list of most wanted sex offenders. The Department of Public Safety has offered a cash price of $4,000 for anyone who can provide information that will lead to his arrest.
Pecina has been on the Dallas County Sheriff Department’s radar since November 2020 when a warrant of arrest was issued against him for aggravated assault leading to bodily injury. Pecina is also wanted for kidnapping and aggravated robbery, according to a press release issued by the Department of Public Safety.
About two months later, a warrant of arrest was issued by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles against Pecina for violating parole rules. The Grand Prairie Police Department has also issued another warrant of arrest for failing to register as a sex offender.
In 2014, Pecina pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child under the age of 14 and was awarded 8 years in prison, according to court documents. He was released on parole in September 2019.
Pecina weighs approximately 180 pounds with a scar on his back. Other than Grand Prairie, Pecina also has ties to California and Grandbury. Police say they have launched a manhunt in several other states in a bid to nab the fugitive. The Texas Department of Public Safety is urging anyone with information about Pecina to come forward.
