As the editor of Grand Prairie News, I always want to encourage positive growth and development in our city. Achieving the goals that can move our city forward requires having the right people serving on the city council. Because of Frank Gonzalez’s dedication, business acumen, and philosophy of giving back, I am proud to endorse him for Grand Prairie City Council District 2.
Frank Gonzalez started from humble beginnings, working as a first-generation migrant picking crops in Southwest Texas. He worked hard during school and was able to pursue higher education after graduating from high school. Following high school, Mr. Gonzalez moved to Irving, Texas, and attended DeVry University, graduating with his Bachelor of Science in electronic engineering technology. He subsequently worked at Honeywell until 2002, when he and his co-founder decided to set out on their own and create Technology Service Professionals. Mr. Gonzalez serves as the CEO of TSP. Under his stewardship, the company has grown to serve more than 34 states and Canada over the last 19 years. His business acumen has led to recognition. He was recognized as a Minority Business Leader by the Dallas Business Journal and was a finalist for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year award.
For the City of Grand Prairie, he envisions utilizing his skills as a highly successful businessman, entrepreneur, and CEO to ensure the city continues to prosper. He believes in smart development that will allow Grand Prairie to retain its small-town feel while accelerating the area’s economic growth. Mr. Gonzalez wants to partner with the city’s citizens to create an even more positive environment to work, grow, and live in. He states that he would find out from businesses what they need and then explain how locating to Grand Prairie could help them to fulfill their visions.
Mr. Gonzalez has lived with his family in Grand Prairie District 2 for more than 25 years. He and his wife have three children, the family has always made community service a priority. In everything he does, Mr. Gonzalez always places God first. He has volunteered for more than 10 years as a leader of a married bible study group at his church and served on the HOA council for Coronado Forest. Mr. Gonzalez has volunteered for many organizations in the community, including the First Baptist Upward Basketball program, the Grand Prairie Youth Football Association, the Girls’ Softball Association, and more. He serves on the board of directors for Readers2Leaders, which is an organization dedicated to improving the reading skills of underserved children to help to accelerate their learning.
To combat crime in Grand Prairie, Mr. Gonzalez stresses his unwavering support of law enforcement, firefighters, military heroes, and first responders. He believes in the importance of public-private partnerships to address crimes like domestic violence, which has increased during the pandemic. With increased citizenship engagement, he believes that the city can become even safer and healthier for everyone to live, work, and play.
Mr. Gonzalez’s business acumen, high-level knowledge of handling budgets, dedication and community involvement, and recognition that God should always be placed first combine to make him the best candidate for the Grand Prairie City Council District 2 seat. The city is blessed to count such a well-qualified leader among its citizens and stands to benefit even more by electing him in the upcoming city council election.
