The Grand Prairie Police Department launched the ‘Blue Shoes Program’, an initiative that gives officers the opportunity to provide new shoes and socks to children in the Grand Prairie Independent School District.

Today 250 Pre-K through second graders at Travis World Language Academy got to take part in this very special program that aims to reach children across Grand Prairie lifting a small burden off of parents’ shoulders while providing a great way for children to interact with Grand Prairie Police Officers.

Chief Scesney tells Grand Prairie News that no tax dollars were used for this program and that sponsors made this possible, in the future, there may be opportunities for the public to contribute to this program. This was just as exciting for the officers as it was for the
children.
