Hyundai Anti Theft Event

GPPD and Hyundai have partnered up on an Anti-Theft Software Update Event scheduled for this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The software upgrade event will provide eligible Hyundai vehicles with anti-theft software developed to protect against the theft mode popularized on social media.

There is no cost and no appointment is needed. Every Hyundai owner will also receive a free steering wheel lock.

This is open to ALL North Texas Hyundai owners and is conveniently located off of the 161 Toll Road and Arkansas Lane (2950 Epic Place – Epic Indoor Waterpark).

Actions taken by Hyundai to help protect folks that own or lease Hyundai Vehicles:

Made engine immobilizers standard on all vehicles produced as of November 2021.
Developed a software upgrade to equip these vehicles with an “ignition kill” feature designed to prevent the popularized method of theft.
Rolled out the free anti-theft software upgrade to all of the nearly 4 million vehicles involved.
Provided auto insurance options through a collaboration with AAA insurers.
Initiated a program to reimburse affected customers for their purchase of steering wheel locks.
Established a program to provide free steering wheel locks to law enforcement agencies across the country for distribution to local residents who own or lease affected vehicles.
