There is a few things that Texas is known for:
- Rodeo
- Music
- Dallas Cowboys
- Damn Good Time
So, when Kid Rock and the PBR decided to collaborate, Arlington held the first Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo at the Dallas Cowboys home. This time, AT&T wasn’t representing the football boys. We are talking wranglers, Stetsons, boots, spurs, and chaps-wearing men and women.
For the first night of the rodeo, the house was sold out. Everyone watched the who’s who of barrel racing, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, breakaway, tie-down roping, and a kick-ass concert from the Kid himself.
To start the evening, Kid Rock enters the arena the only way he knows how…BIG! The Kid knows people, and did he pull off the opening the right way. He entered the arena standing in the back of a Tesla truck; all tricked out like General Lee. The crowd went wild when it entered the arena. Everyone knows the “Dixie” tune. We didn’t even need to see the iconic orange and “01” and rebel flag to know the night was going to be LEGENDARY!
When Kid Rock hit the stage, he was ready to set the crowd on fire. After his first song, he brought out his friend, who turned the crowd upside down…Jelly Roll. The two serenaded the crowd with a few songs that had everyone in arms and wanting more.
After that, it was time for the main event.
Six teams competed. On the first night of the rodeo, $500,000 was up for grabs for the winning team. The teams were Free Riders, led by Bobby Mote. Convoy’s coach was Cody Ohl. Jokers was directed by Sid Steiner. Low Riders the infamous Trevor Brazile. Misty Mountain Hop had the beautiful Charmayne James. Sledgehammers had the 20-time NFR qualifier, Fred Whitfield.
After all the dust settled. All the times were in. The judges made their decisions. The winning team that came out on top was the Free Riders:

Kid Rock was the encore of the night. Before he hit the stage, President Trump delivered a pre-recorded speech welcoming everyone. He thanked us all for attending and making this country great again. Also, he thanked us for attending events after COVID…then the party began.
Kid Rock entered the stage from two golden doors in the center. Up above them were WE, THE PEOPLE, in red, white, blue, and the stars and stripes. Wearing a blue sequin coat, Kid started belting out hard-hitting tunes that had the entire place singing along.
With songs like “Sweet Home Alabama,” everyone was into the music. Every person in front of the stage was a backup singer for this song. The crowd was so into the music it was electric.
Being from Michigan, they had to play a little Nugent, “Cat Scratch Fever.” The crowd went wild when “Superstitious” by Stevie Wonder was played. Michigan was being represented in the house that night.
To wrap up the night, when you heard the yell, MY NAME IS KID ROCK! When he took the stance and the arms went in the air, head banging… everyone knew what would happen. There weren’t any topless dancers, but many people in the pit were having a lot of fun!
By the time the evening finally ended around 1:30 a.m., everyone was tired, sweaty, covered in dirt, hyped up from some great music, and ready to fight the traffic to head home.
