On Tuesday, June 7th, at around 10:15 p.m., the Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Sugar Mill Lane where officers located a male with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Shannon McKnight, 35 years of age, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives determined the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Allen Hale, was engaged in a disturbance with the victim who was a known acquaintance. The disturbance escalated resulting in the suspect shooting the victim. Officers arrested Allen Hale on a charge of murder, and he is currently being held in the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond set at $500,000.00
This case remains under investigation.
